Marketing services for plumbing suppliers

We offer five services, one for each way a plumbing supplier makes money. Most supply houses should start with the one tied to their biggest margin leak, not the one that sounds most impressive.

The right first service depends on where your margin comes from. Look at last year's gross profit by counter, project and showroom sales, then find the door where you are losing the most to competitors. That is where marketing should start. The five services below map to those doors, plus one that cuts across all of them.

Plumber account growth

This is for supply houses whose counter trade is the core of the business. It covers two jobs: opening accounts with plumbing contractors who don't buy from you yet, and raising your share of spend with the ones who already do.

The work includes branch listings that show hours and counter services properly, campaigns aimed at service and new-construction plumbers by territory, and consent-based reorder and truck-stock reminders. We measure it with active accounts and share of wallet, not website visits. Read more on the plumber account growth page.

Pipe, valve and fitting catalogue content

This is for wholesalers and suppliers with deep PVF, water heater, drainage and fixture catalogues that nobody can find online. Plumbers and estimators search by size, material, connection type and cross-reference, and a page that says "fittings, call for pricing" answers none of those searches.

We build product, category and cross-reference pages that answer real queries, organised so a large catalogue can grow without becoming thin. The catalogue content page explains how we do it without publishing thousands of empty pages.

Kitchen and bath showroom marketing

This is for suppliers with a decorative plumbing showroom. A showroom has an unusual problem: the person who chooses the faucet is rarely the person who buys it. The homeowner or designer picks; the plumber orders, and sometimes orders somewhere else.

We run showroom campaigns aimed at homeowners, designers and renovators, and we build the handoff so each selection reaches the installing plumber with your quote attached. See showroom marketing.

Project desk and specification marketing

This is for suppliers that quote new construction, multi-unit residential and commercial mechanical work. The buyer is an estimator or a mechanical contractor working against a tender deadline, and the deciding factor is often how quickly and cleanly your quote and submittal package arrive.

We build the pages, document libraries and follow-up sequences that help your lines get written into quotes and stay there. See project desk marketing.

Seasonal demand campaigns

This service cuts across the other four. Plumbing supply in Canada runs on the weather: freeze-ups, spring thaw, the construction season and the start of the heating season each shift what plumbers need and when.

We plan campaigns six to eight weeks ahead of each swing, so your stock and your message are in front of plumbers before the rush. See seasonal demand campaigns, and the plumbing supply calendar guide for the full year.

How to choose

Work through these questions in order:

  1. Where does most of your gross profit come from? Counter, project desk or showroom. Start with that door unless it is already performing well.
  2. What is your share of wallet with your top 20 accounts? If you don't know, start with plumber account growth, because measuring share is the first step.
  3. Can a plumber find a specific part on your website? If not, catalogue content will help every other service.
  4. How many showroom selections turn into orders through you? If nobody tracks it, the handoff is probably leaking.
  5. How many quotes went out last quarter, and how many were followed up? Silence after a quote is the most common project desk leak.

If the answers point in several directions, call, text or email. A 30-minute consultation is usually enough to pick a starting point, and the pricing page explains what each plan includes.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need all five services?

Rarely. A branch-heavy wholesaler with no showroom has no use for showroom marketing, and a decorative showroom with no counter trade may not need PVF catalogue content. Most clients start with one or two.

Which service pays back fastest?

Usually plumber account growth aimed at share of wallet, because it works on customers who already buy from you. Raising an existing account's share is cheaper than finding a new one.

Can a manufacturer or agency rep use these services?

Yes, with some changes. Manufacturers and rep agencies tend to use catalogue content and project desk marketing, because their job is to get specified and stocked rather than to run a counter.

Do you write the content yourselves?

Yes. We write and build it, and your product managers or counter staff check technical details before anything goes live. We never publish a size, rating or approval we haven't confirmed with you.
